What motivated you to become a writer?
I have always been drawn to stories and storytelling. As a kid, I had an active imagination, fueled by my love of books and movies. More recently, writing has been a way to process the world and find catharsis.
Starting on a blank page is not easy- where does your creativity come from?
Inspiration comes from a variety of places. It could be people I meet, places I visit, the experiences of myself or others, or things I learn through research and exploration.
Do you write projects knowing that so many other factors need to happen to get it to screen and does that come into your project creation?
Honestly, I do not think about those things when I begin writing. The primary task is to write something interesting. Only then can I begin to consider what it will take to get it made. That being said, when I began to form this story I was excited by the fact that it is set in a small town with a limited cast of characters. Production felt possible.
What is your dream for this project and what other ancillary revenue do you think it could generate? Please include script title in reply.
My dream for the short CHOICES is to get it made, of course! Additionally, I think it could serve as a proof of concept for a larger story that plays out in this setting with these characters and could see myself developing this into a larger feature.
How has your experience been with screenwriting contests for this project so far?
This is the first contest cycle for this script, so I’ll have a better answer to this question in a few months.
If you could stand in a room full of investor partners looking at many projects what would you like them to know about you and this project?
This is a story that I see vividly in my head and am passionate to tell.
Do you have any website links for your writing, credits, background, etc that you would like to share?
