Writers Interviews, Faith D. Cox

WRITER PROFILE

It’s always great to get together with a large group of writers and investors and keep up to date on what’s new, the screenplay contest, any recent deals, new dealmaker contacts, agents or managers that are looking and simply encouraging everyone to keep going after every dream in this difficult industry. For the hard working writer we want to do as much as we can to continue the exposure and word of mouth in the investment circles of the industry. Another way we do this is with writer interviews that we send far and wide and showcase at all possible meetings and markets.

We want to encourage your writing spirit, motivate you and again give you the accolades you so deserve.

MIRANDA’S SILVER CHRISTMAS

Written by Faith D. Cox

What motivated you to become a writer?
I have enjoyed writing ever since a fourth-grade assignment. I carried a spiral notebook and pen around for weeks writing a story. Today, I still carry paper and pen wherever I go for those insights I don’t want to lose.

Starting on a blank page is not easy- where does your creativity come from?
God inspires and puts thoughts into my mind to write heartfelt screenplays to encourage, inspire, and entertain.

Do you write projects knowing that so many other factors need to happen to get it to screen and does that come into your project creation?
I enjoy writing! Yes, I realize there are so many other factors that have to come together to get the project to the screen. I consider this when I am writing, and many of my scripts are low to moderate budget with easily accessible locations.

What is your dream for this project and what other ancillary revenue do you think it could generate?
A professional critique states of “MIRANDA’S SILVER CHRISTMAS,” “Christmas movies have a long-standing tradition of creating sentimental stories about families.  One of the most classic examples is FRANK CAPRA’S ‘IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE.’  You have an original hook, and it could become a beloved holiday classic.
It’s an honor for my work to be compared with “IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE.” It’s a dream if my work of love and hope could touch so many lives and open up endless ways to create other ancillary revenue.
How has your experience been with screenwriting contests for this project so far?
I have placed as Quarter-finalist and “The Hot 100 List” along with very strong positive feedback.

If you could stand in a room full of investor partners looking at many projects what would you like them to know about you and this project?
“MIRANDA’S SILVER CHRISTMAS” is a story full of hope and love. It brings joy into people’s lives with new beginnings… beginnings they had given up on and didn’t think were possible.
I have a compassionate heart for people and new beginnings. I write heartfelt screenplays to touch lives. I want to encourage and inspire others as I entertain through laughter and tears.
I also write books. I have a short story coming out November 2024 in Novelists in November anthologyIt also is a story that brings hope when dreams are shattered and lives are changed.
