WRITER PROFILE
It’s always great to get together with a large group of writers and investors and keep up to date on what’s new, the screenplay contest, any recent deals, new dealmaker contacts, agents or managers that are looking and simply encouraging everyone to keep going after every dream in this difficult industry. For the hard working writer we want to do as much as we can to continue the exposure and word of mouth in the investment circles of the industry. Another way we do this is with writer interviews that we send far and wide and showcase at all possible meetings and markets.
We want to encourage your writing spirit, motivate you and again give you the accolades you so deserve.
Death of a Revolution
Written by Marshall S. Ferrin
What motivated you to become a writer?
To bring true stories to light, stories that can have a real impact on the lives of the audience.
Starting on a blank page is not easy- where does your creativity come from?
It all comes from the wonderful stories that are part of the history of the human race.
Do you write projects knowing that so many other factors need to happen to get it to screen and does that come into your project creation?
Yes, I do and it does come into project creation.
What is your dream for this project and what other ancillary revenue do you think it could generate? Please include script title in reply.
I hope my 5 Episode Mini-Series “Death of a Revolution” will be shown by a streaming video outlets like Netflix, Amazon, A & E, History Channel , AMC, Disney + Additional revenue from DVD sales.
How has your experience been with screenwriting contests for this project so far?
For this project, excellent. It has won over 20 awards, and counting.
If you could stand in a room full of investor partners looking at many projects what would you like them to know about you and this project?
I dramatize stories that are true, in the public domain. Have a strong sense of both the entertainment and educational value of historical events that can guide the audience in dealing with the very real problems of our time. Mini-Series have a long shelf life, and can generate revenue over multiple outlets. The Crown, Downtown Abbey, Napoleon, Turn!, the Vikings and Victoria are good examples, among many. I have worked on over 40 countries, with people of all races, national background, beliefs and economic levels. This translates into the ability to write very authentic, “true to life” work, as if I was actually there, in the time and period of the story. As one of my reviews put it, it is almost as if I had “intimate knowledge” of the characters in the story.
Do you have any website links for your writing, credits, background, etc that you would like to share?
Please look at www.inktip.com and www.filmfreeway.com for all my work. The entire Mini-Series and four screenplays.
