WRITER PROFILE
It’s always great to get together with a large group of writers and investors and keep up to date on what’s new, the screenplay contest, any recent deals, new dealmaker contacts, agents or managers that are looking and simply encouraging everyone to keep going after every dream in this difficult industry. For the hard working writer we want to do as much as we can to continue the exposure and word of mouth in the investment circles of the industry. Another way we do this is with writer interviews that we send far and wide and showcase at all possible meetings and markets.

What motivated you to become a writer?
The main reason that motivated me to write is because I can combine this with acting career. I like writing different stories about people and history. I love mixing historical context into my works and create my own characters.
Starting on a blank page is not easy- where does your creativity come from?
My inspirations goes from my personal life experience and circumstances that I had to deal with. Many of the scenes that I created into the play that I wrote goes from my heart. They are mostly based on real events. Some of them are less exaggerate and some not .
Do you write projects knowing that so many other factors need to happen to get it to screen and does that come into your project creation?
I know industry very well . I know sometimes there is a lot of things that need to be changed or make it different way like for example- changing scenes complete differently from original or even changing the whole story. I am professional working person and I am very collaborative. I don’t think such a things would stopped me from writing the ideas of projects. It how it is in industry . Sometimes to make the project look better and more productive, many of it must be changed by other people that are collaborating together. I think it’s very good because thanks to this , the project can go on screen.
What is your dream for this project and what other ancillary revenue do you think it could generate?
Hurrem Sultan is a period drama based on the big and epic love of a Slavic woman – Aleksandra Lisovska also known as Roksolana and the Big Sultan Suleiman the Magnificient. Roksolana was the chief consort and legal wife of the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificient. Hurrem Sultan became one of the most powerful and influential in the Ottoman history and a prominent and controversial figure during the era known as the Sultanate of Women.
My dream for this project idea is to raise money and make it amazing feature film showing a lot of love , passion and desire in it. I would also loved to dedicate that to people affected by the recent earthquake in Turkey. I think also because of the war in Ukraine and those earthquakes would be a good idea to show up some Slavic and Turkish characters on screen , in fact that the main character is Polish/Ukrainian decent , kidnapped to Turkey.
How has your experience been with screenwriting contests for this project so far?
Before I start writing this project I have done a lot of research about it. However, on a top of this I already had some informations about the characters too , so it helped me lot with writing the background of the project. I was trying to push my idea to many people but because it is a period drama not many been interested as this would be very expensive and would take years to make it even though it is only a feature film not series.
If you could stand in a room full of investor partners looking at many projects what would you like them to know about you and this project?
I was born and raised in very small town called Zamosc in southeastern Poland. Since young age I dreamed of becoming successful in Hollywood film industry , that’s why I decided to leave my country at the age of 17 to realise my dreams. I am very hard working person. I am very collaborative and I love working with people and hear theirs feedbacks as well. I think project ‘Hurrem Sultan’ would be an amazing investment and partnership. It is a very beautiful love story and it’s has a lot of feminism context. How women from such poor background become one of the most successful figure in Ottoman History. I think it would be nice to show up such powerful character on screen .
