WRITER PROFILE
It’s always great to get together with a large group of writers and investors and keep up to date on what’s new, the screenplay contest, any recent deals, new dealmaker contacts, agents or managers that are looking and simply encouraging everyone to keep going after every dream in this difficult industry. For the hard working writer we want to do as much as we can to continue the exposure and word of mouth in the investment circles of the industry. Another way we do this is with writer interviews that we send far and wide and showcase at all possible meetings and markets.
We want to encourage your writing spirit, motivate you and again give you the accolades you so deserve.

What motivated you to become a writer?
My mother had her neck broke when I was five. I lived with my Grand parents after that. Grandpa was an excellent storyteller. After he died my Great Grandmother came to live with us. She was half French and half Cherokee. Born around 1880. She loved to drive her jeep and pick up pecans, polk salad, animal skulls, rocks fossils and crystals. Riding with her was always an adventure. These three women and how they stood up to their problems is why I write about female protagonists.
Starting on a blank page is not easy- where does your creativity come from?
I have always wondered why certain people react differently to the same situation. Discovering that location, family influence, love, kindness, intelligence, education, etc. influence many people’s judgement and how they react inspires me to recreate characters I have meet. The hardships they have endured inspires me to write about them. All I have to do is create the first scene and I am off to the races.
Do you write projects knowing that so many other factors need to happen to get it to screen and does that come into your project creation?
The first time you sit down with a producer and help work on a budget study you realize there are certain scenes and locations you can change that still reflect your story without costing so much, improving your script by editing, budget studies, storyboarding, and shot sheets make it more professional and appealing to investors.
What is your dream for this project and what other ancillary revenue do you think it could generate? Please include script title in reply.
The BLUE ROOM would make a great big screen movie with all it’s awesome scenes. The characters in the story would make great Halloween costumes for children and adults. ie: For example – Pope Innocent the Tenth,s ghost witch comes from the past out of a painting of him would be cool. A witch is also involved.
How has your experience been with screenwriting contests for this project so far?
It won HONORABLE MENTION in the HORROR HOTEL screenplay competition in 2015. Finalist at SUNDANCE, Finalist at HOLLYWOOD SCREENPLAY.
If you could stand in a room full of investor partners looking at many projects what would you like them to know about you and this project?
God blessed me with a wonderful talent of imagination but that means nothing if you do not improve and learn everyday by working hard. The research involved in this project shows in the well constructed story plus the unexpected twists and turns. Kay’s character arc is huge!! She dies in one scene on the operating table but is brought back by the doctor.
