WRITER PROFILE
It’s always great to get together with a large group of writers and investors and keep up to date on what’s new, the screenplay contest, any recent deals, new dealmaker contacts, agents or managers that are looking and simply encouraging everyone to keep going after every dream in this difficult industry. For the hard working writer we want to do as much as we can to continue the exposure and word of mouth in the investment circles of the industry. Another way we do this is with writer interviews that we send far and wide and showcase at all possible meetings and markets.
We want to encourage your writing spirit, motivate you and again give you the accolades you so deserve.
H I D D E N (A Story of Love, Betrayal and Revelations)

What motivated you to become a writer?
When I was younger, I enjoyed watching the old movies with actors James Earl Jones, Marla Gibbs, Ivan Dixon, Lena Horne, James Stewart, Charleston Heston, Elizabeth Taylor, Susan Hayward and so many more. I was always fascinated with the art of acting, singing and filmmaking. In 2009 I was interested to learning about filmmaking. In 2010, I studied Filmmaking at the University of Washington.
Starting on a blank page is not easy- where does your creativity come from?
My creativity comes from my life experiences and my faith. I always felt everyone has a story to tell.
Do you write projects knowing that so many other factors need to happen to get it to screen and does that come into your project creation?
Yes, after I completed the Filmmaking Certification program, in 2010, I wrote, produced and directed a short film entitled “Blind Colour”. It did not make it to the screen. I also produced a documentary. http://www.7northeastproductions.com/
What is your dream for this project and what other ancillary revenue do you think it could generate? Please include script title in reply.
My dream for this project is for everyone to see it on HBO, Lifetime, Netflix and/or BET. Regarding ancillary revenue, approximately 60%. I in vision genealogy charts on cups, blankets, T-shirts, Tops, pants, skirts and ancestry company advertisements.
How has your experience been with screenwriting contests for this project so far?
I have submitted my pitch to several Film Festivals and I am currently waiting for responses.
If you could stand in a room full of investor partners looking at many projects what would you like them to know about you and this project?
My mother had a Chest that was at the foot of her bed. As a young child, I loved to go through my mother’s chest. I would pull out her hats and jewelry and try them on. When I was 10, I opened her chest and found a document. I picked it up, opened it and read as much as I could. After I was done, I placed it back in the chest. This is when I learned, I was the family secret and the man who I thought was my father, was not. This is what inspired me to write H I D D E N.
