What motivated you to become a writer?
We all have a story tell. The desire and motivation to become writer was in my subconscious since I was a child growing up with many siblings in relative poverty. Watching shows with my brothers like The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, The Big Valley, The Fugitive, and so on an so forth, fueled my imagination.
I’m sure as we would sit around sometimes in the dark without electricity taking turns telling stories and conjuring up titles such as, Last Meal for an Innocent Man, those were the beginning seeds. But I can also say that with the death my mom I was compelled to began putting what was buried in the mind on printed page, starting with my first book of poetry. Later, in turned into what can reach people who no longer find the time or internet in reading. To write screenplays was the epiphany. Literary art turned into visual art.
Starting on a blank page is not easy- where does your creativity come from?
The creative process is a rather interesting one in that a blank remains a blank page unless you have something meaningful to write. From something meaningful comes passion. From passion comes the thought to tell the story in way that will end entertain. To entertain is to creatively take the reader on a journey that leaves feeling various emotions from sadness to happiness, to introspectiveness.
Do you write projects knowing that so many other factors need to happen to get it to screen and does that come into your project creation?
Yes. Because as relates to screenwriting, sure one can pick up the script and enjoy it like reading a novel, however, the objective of writing a screenplay is in the bake itself, a play for the screen. So in writing those projects, I must consider the visual aspect of what the audience will see as well as hear and feel.
What is your dream for this project and what other ancillary revenue do you think it could generate?
My dream, hope and belief, is that the screenplays Time, Space, And The Poet and Time, Space & the Poet – part two, will be seen by lovers of movies, of literature, of poetry, lovers of life, from people all over the world. I do believe also that other streams of revenue exist associated with the movie.
How has your experience been with screenwriting contests for this project so far?
To date, my experience with other critically acclaimed contest such as the Austin Film Festival and numerous others has been extremely positive in that my screenplays Time, Space, And Poet has been in that prestigious contest as well as many others.
If you could stand in a room full of investor partners looking at many projects what would you like them to know about you and this project? I would say I fully understand your objective and that is to get a return on your investment. The movie is a very rewarding prospect in that regard. Look no further, I have the right movie, no, I have movies, as I’ve already substantially increased the potential of an enormous profit in that I’ve written the sequel to what I believe will be a blockbuster movie. If deciphered and analyzed meticulously, both movies can be shot on one budget, whatever the amount, eliminating the need for future expenditures regarding part two. But know that part one can be released to a worldwide box office with greater expectations for the sequel, billions are within the realm of possibility.
Do you have any website links for your writing, credits, background, etc. that you would like to share?
I’m in the process of establishing that with IMDb and other. Also, soon timespaceabdthepoet.com will go live. For promotional purposes, social can and will also be used to further create excitement.
