WRITER PROFILE

It’s always great to get together with a large group of writers and investors and keep up to date on what’s new, the screenplay contest, any recent deals, new dealmaker contacts, agents or managers that are looking and simply encouraging everyone to keep going after every dream in this difficult industry. For the hard working writer we want to do as much as we can to continue the exposure and word of mouth in the investment circles of the industry. Another way we do this is with writer interviews that we send far and wide and showcase at all possible meetings and markets.

We want to encourage your writing spirit, motivate you and again give you the accolades you so deserve.

What motivated you to become a writer?

To be honest…Changes in my life transitioning from a Musician to a Pastry Chef and after losing both beyond my control I started writing.

Starting on a blank page is not easy- where does your creativity come from?

I dream of my screenplays as if they are happening in real time then wake up and write them.

Do you write projects knowing that so many other factors need to happen to get it to screen and does that come into your project creation?

Yes and no. I write as therapy and relaxation. Whatever comes of it after or whatever I decide to do with them is unknown until it’s done.

What is your dream for this project and what other ancillary revenue do you think it could generate? Please include script title in reply.

Title: Mic Check (Queen of MC’s)

Logline: When two female battle rappers go head to head, the hip-hop community will take sides. But only one will be left standing.

My dream for my latest project Mic Check (Queen of MC’s) a 90’s Hip-Hop Drama which is now a feature musical of the year via Coverfly is to tell a story and bring it to life on the big screen. In the 90’s it was so much impact on the fashion and music industry that inspired me to bring a piece of that nostalgia back by creating a BK 90 sneaker which gained the “Staff Pick Award” that coincides with the film via Alive Shoes that is currently available at:

How has your experience been with screenwriting contests for this project so far?

Positive. I’m on Filmfreeway which is a very powerful platform that allows screenwriters such as myself to display projects and enter festivals with great feedback and results.

I honestly can say that most festivals have lived up to their word with the exception of a few.

If you could stand in a room full of investor partners looking at many projects what would you like them to know about you and this project?

That it is heartfelt, truthful, and inspiring as I play a character in the screenplay. And a bit of my life and experience with the music industry is written into it.
