WRITER PROFILE
It’s always great to get together with a large group of writers and investors and keep up to date on what’s new, the screenplay contest, any recent deals, new dealmaker contacts, agents or managers that are looking and simply encouraging everyone to keep going after every dream in this difficult industry. For the hard working writer we want to do as much as we can to continue the exposure and word of mouth in the investment circles of the industry. Another way we do this is with writer interviews that we send far and wide and showcase at all possible meetings and markets.
We want to encourage your writing spirit, motivate you and again give you the accolades you so deserve.
A Fighting Heart

What motivated you to become a writer? I always felt it was like the perfect career; you get to delve into your imagination, root around in there, and break your boundaries in an autonomous way.
Starting on a blank page is not easy- where does your creativity come from? I have a visual imagination and love stories – the story is the hook.
Do you write projects knowing that so many other factors need to happen to get it to screen and does that come into your project creation? I realise there are so many steps and luck to a certain extent to bring something to fruition. I don’t really think about that, though when I write, I write for the exploration and sense of creation I experience.
What is your dream for this project, and what other ancillary revenue do you think it could generate? I really want this project ‘A fighting heart’ to be brought to the big screen. It’s a wonderful true story, so inspiring, full of heart, love, grit, endurance, loyalty, and spirit – it embodies many of the qualities humans need to be reminded of and want to be reminded of.
How has your experience been with screenwriting contests for this project so far? I’ve not really had that much experience. I realise there is so much talent and so many scripts out there, so I’m realistic in that sense.
If you could stand in a room full of investor partners looking at many projects what would you like them to know about you and this project? I wrote this script because it was an untold story and it was such a great, uplifting and inspiring story I felt I wanted to put it out there. I did what I intended to do, which was to draft it as best I could, and that is my part. If someone sees what I see in the story then they could take it from here.
Do you have any website links for your writing, credits, background, etc that you would like to share I work as a freelance health comms consultant and write materials on disease awareness for patients and healthcare professionals in online and printed forms, among other types of work. I have now started writing for my own enjoyment and fairly recently wrote a children’s book.
