Writers Interviews, Marina Tetarić Prusec

WRITER PROFILE

It’s always great to get together with a large group of writers and investors and keep up to date on what’s new, the screenplay contest, any recent deals, new dealmaker contacts, agents or managers that are looking and simply encouraging everyone to keep going after every dream in this difficult industry. For the hard working writer we want to do as much as we can to continue the exposure and word of mouth in the investment circles of the industry. Another way we do this is with writer interviews that we send far and wide and showcase at all possible meetings and markets.

We want to encourage your writing spirit, motivate you and again give you the accolades you so deserve.

Wild Time

Written by Marina Tetarić Prusec

What motivated you to become a writer?

I’m a film director and I’ve always written screenplays as well. I simply see the film and write about it.

Starting on a blank page is not easy- where does your creativity come from?

In short – from life itself.

Do you write projects knowing that so many other factors need to happen to get it to screen and does that come into your project creation?

It depends. Sometimes events go spontaneously out from reality, and sometimes imagination adds something.

What is your dream for this project and what other ancillary revenue do you think it could generate? Please include script title in reply.

All my screenplays are stories that can happen anywhere in the world, and can make a movie from them in almost every country (with a little adjustments). There are my scripts like Flyby, Wild Time, Superincognito, The Smile.
As you maybe know, I am a film director and screenwriter from Croatia, and my desire is to make a movie, to screen my screenplays.
Therefore, I am looking to find investors and everyone interested in my projects, for making film from them, either in Croatia or elsewhere in the world.

How has your experience been with screenwriting contests for this project so far?

Some of my screenplays are at the top of film festivals in the USA, Russia and India:

“Wild Time” is selected in Top 10 finalists at the European International Film Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia, 2019 (in competition of more than 600 projects from all over the world), and is also nominated at Jaipur IFF, India, 2020.

“Superincognito” is selected into the Official Selection of Film Festival LA Under the Stars, Los Angeles, 2020 (in competition of more than 1500 submissions from worldwide), and is also nominated at New Delhi Film Festival-NDFF, India, 2021.

SF “Connection” won as Best Treatment at the Script and Storyboard Showcase, Los Angeles, 2020.

“Flyby” is the finalist of the European International Film Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia, 2020 (in competition of more than 800 projects from worldwide), and is also selected in Top 7 finalists of the Hollywood Art Film Festival and Movie Awards, 2021.

“The Smile” is nominated at International Screenplay Competition ISC @ JIFF (Mind to Audience), Jaipur, India, 2021, and is also selected in Top 10 finalists of Film Festival LA Under the Stars, Los Angeles, 2021 (in competition of more than 1000 submissions from worldwide).

“Cro Top Gun” (“Flight to Eternity”) won as Best Treatment at the World Film Carnival, Singapore, 2021.

If you could stand in a room full of investor partners looking at many projects what would you like them to know about you and this project?

They need to know that I am a talented director with a lot o of film experience, a person who loves to work and I create projects that are universal, many people can identify with these stories.

Do you have any website links for your writing, credits, background, etc. that you would like to share?
